For the past seven years, The Creative Soul Retreat has been a cherished gathering for women to explore art and faith in a nurturing environment. Held at The Whatever Craft House, this retreat has grown into an experience that transcends words—something that must be felt to be truly understood.
A Unique Experience
What started as a group of strangers has blossomed into a community of incredible, fun-loving friends. Women from all over the US and Canada come together, creating an atmosphere of sincere friendship and support.
Here’s a glimpse into what makes The Creative Soul Retreat so special:
Creative Workshops: Engage in various art forms, mixed media, art journaling and slow stitching, allowing your creativity to flourish.
Deep Connections: Form lasting friendships through shared experiences, late-night chats, early morning coffee, and heartfelt moments.
Spiritual Growth: Participate in faith-based devotions, discussions and reflections, growing spiritually and embracing your God-given purpose.
Supportive Community: Be part of a loving group of like-minded creatives who encourage each other to dream big, take risks, and live purposefully.
Memorable Moments
Together, we have:
- Shared stories and created art.
- Stayed up too late and gone to bed early.
- Enjoyed early morning coffee.
- Spilled paint, poked ourselves with needles and spent too much money at the fabric store.
-Celebrated, laughed, cried, and grieved with one another.
Embrace Your Creativity and Faith
The Creative Soul Retreat is a space where all are welcome, whether you are looking to play, practice, learn new things, or simply escape for a few days. My hope is that you can join us in 2025 for an unforgettable journey of creativity, faith, and friendship. The Creative Soul Retreat is more than an event; it’s a loving, special, and transformative experience waiting for you.
Here is what is included in The Creative Soul Retreat:
Meals - Each day you will get to enjoy amazing and fresh meals prepared just for you. Yep, three meals a day so be ready to eat. Leave your diets at home and bring your stretchy pants. In between there will be a ridiculous array of salty and sweet snacks and apples, coffee, water and tea with bags of sonic ice of course.
Lodging – The Craft House is located in Newton, Kansas. It is a 100+ year old restored home that is used for retreats and sleeps a total of 17.
Upstairs there are four beautifully decorated bedrooms. Each room has between 3– 5 twin beds.
Be prepared for late night giggles and some early rising roommates. There are three bathrooms that will be shared.
Creative Time & Supplies – Each retreat includes workshops featuring a guest artist and myself. Because retreats are announce so far in advance to support payment options, guest teachers and projects are not introduced in advance.
You can always plan on there being a stitching workshop and a mixed media workshop. Additional workshops will be announced as retreat times get closer.
All of the supplies you will need for the creative sessions will be provided.
Tip: You may want to keep a little extra space in your suitcase for the projects you create and the treasures you may find along the way.
Daily Devotions- At the beginning of each day and at the end of each night we will have a devotional and discussion time.
There will be a mid-morning creative sessions and plenty of time for naps, walks and you will even be able to schedule an in-house massage if you would like. Note: Retreat registration does not include massage fee.
